On-Going Projects
Kids to Kids
Kids to kids aims at bridging the kids from the privileged families with those from under privileged families and create a platform for sharing materials and love through communication/letter writing and the game of baseball.
K2K is a project under “THE BRIDGE program Building bridges, creating opportunities” through the game of baseball aimed at creating safe learning environments translating into better communities through the game of baseball.
Sharing is done in different ways:
- A one-off sharing from one institution to another which involves collecting such material from both the staff and the student community to another school of their choice.
- Student and staff partnerships where individual students and staff members select to partner with other staff and students for a continuous communication and sharing process.
My School My Community
My school my community is aimed at fighting environmental degradation and climate change by Maintaining green schools and communities free from disposable plastics and plastic carrier bags. At My school my Community “bye-bye” plastics we recommend the Bring Your Own (BYO) strategy to reduce single use plastics where Reusable options like water bottles for both teachers and students can be adopted over the single use disposables.
Project objectives
(i). To educate and sensitize the schools and the communities about the key issues of environmental concern and make them knowledgeable, empowered citizens who engage in positive environmental action to protect ecosystems, wilderness and protected areas.
(ii). To Eliminate the use of plastic disposable bottles and plastic carrier bags in schools and reduce their use in the community.
(iii). To Plant trees in the community from school garden tree nurseries. (Schools, hospitals and other community centers) to cub climate change.
(iv). To Spear head the conservation of our ecosystems through community engagement
We do all these by helping schools develop their environmental policy, help them build a monitoring and evaluation plan and the implementation schedule.
Choices
This is aimed at fighting alcohol and drug abuse by helping students take charge of the choices they make. We use a brand ambassador who is always a celebrity whose career got ruined by drugs to talk to the students through a story telling game with performances. We create a referral linkage for rehabilitation.
This aims at;
- Preventing newer initiations.
- De-hooking the initiated but not addicts yet
- Rehabilitating the addicted ones.
